Seller Terms & Conditions

 

These Terms & Conditions apply to individuals and entitles ("you" or "the seller") submitting items to Second // Story ("we", "us", or "our") for potential resale on our platform.

1. Eligibility
You must be 18 or over and the rightful owner of the items you submit. All items must be authentic and in a clean, wearable condition.

2. Submission & Review
Once your submission is received via our seller form or email, we will review and assess your items. Acceptance is based on quality, brand alignment, and current demand. We reserve the right to decline any submission without obligation or to provide feedback.

3. Consignment or Direct Sale
We offer two resale options:
- Consignment: You retain ownership until the item is sold. You'll receive a percentage of the sale price, agreed in advance.
- Direct Purchase: We may offer to buy your item(s) outright at a fixed price.

All terms will be clearly communicated and agreed in writing before listing.

4. Pricing
Prices are set by Second // Story based on marked value, condition, and brand demand. We aim to balance seller return and buyer value.

5. Ownership & Authenticity
By Submitting an item, you confirm it is authentic and the you have full rights to sell it. If items are found to be counterfeit or misrepresented, they will not be returned and may be reported. We may ask for proof of purchase or authentication when assessing your items.

6. Returns & Unsold Items
For consigned items: 
- If your item doesn't sell within an agreed timeframe (eg 90 days), we'll contact you to return it or discuss extending the listing period.
- Return shipping (if applicable) may be at your expense.

7. Payouts
For consigned items, payouts will be processed 14-21 days after the item(s) has been delivered to the buyer, to allow for any returns within our policy window. If no return is initiated during that time, payment will be issued by bank transfer on a monthly basis.

For direct purchases, payment will be made after your item is received, inspected and approved by us.

8. Responsibility & Liability
We take every care in handling your items, but are not liable for loss or damage to unforeseen circumstances (eg courier errors, theft). We advise insuring any high-value items sent to us.

9. Amendments
We may update these terms periodically. The latest version will always be available on our website.
